Mystikal spoke to a group of reporters after being released from prison on $3 million bond.

He explained that he was “greatful for this opportunity to get my life back,” and added that his 18 months spent in prison were a “walk of faith.”Β When asked about plans for the future, Mysikal said that he wants to hug his kids first, but revealed that he had also written a lot of material while behind bars.

According to TMZ, Mystikal, real name Michael Tyler, was released from prison on $3 million bond that was a combination of an advance from a record company and money from his family and friends. The famed entertainer has spent the last 18 months in prison on first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping charges.

His lawyer, Joel Pearce, spoke on Mystikal’s case, stating, “Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn’t commit.”Β
