Meek Mill recently made an appearance at the McSilver Awards at New York University.
He was one of six people honored as someone who is “prominent in their fields and unafraid to use their platforms to help create a more equitable and just world.” Meek was issued the Vanguard for Social Justice award. While speaking at the event, Meek said:
“I’ve been beat by police, I’ve been locked in penitentiaries, I’ve been on probation much of my life… I’ve never seen much justice, & so I wanted to take giants in every field that I could think of and make justice in this country.”
It's our pleasure to welcome back 2018 #McSilverAwards Honoree @EricaFordNYC of @LIFECampInc, the perfect person to introduce @MeekMill of @REFORM as a 2019 Vanguard for Social Justice. pic.twitter.com/hCdwqNxO6g
