According to Forbes, Adidas is looking to unload Reebok for an asking price of $2.4 billion, which has led to Baron Davis and Master P looking to buy the sportswear brand.
Adidas purchased Reebok in 2005 to compete with Nike, which didn’t go as planned. Master P confirmed the news to ESPN’s Eric Woodward, who quoted the No Limit CEO as saying, “These companies have been benefiting off us, this could be history for this company going Black-owned.” Master P added that he and Davis are “prepared financially” after a couple months of negotiations. He also told Forbes, “As we focus on turning Reebok into a lifestyle brand not just a basketball brand, our most important initiative will be to put money back into the community that built this company.”
