A homeowner from the country of Turkey made the discovery of a lifetime when he chased a group of his pet chickens down into the basement after noticing that many had mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
That’s when he noticed a peculiar-looking hole. So, he knocked it down and inadvertently uncovered the long-lost city of “Elengubu.” The 110,000-year-old fortress used to be home to approximately 20,000 townspeople. Â Its confines were several miles long and 18 levels deep, complete with cow houses, food storages, schools, a church, and more.Â
