Everyone has given their take on Will Smith slapping Chris Rock center stage at the Oscars.

One of the people who have spoken against the actions of Smith includes Richard Williams, who Smith portrayed and won an Oscar for minutes after slapping Chris Rock. Williams spoke on the matter through his son Chavolta LeSane, who said, “We don’t know all the details of what happened,  but we don’t condone anyone hitting anyone else unless it’s in self-defense.” It was noted that Williams was speaking through his son after suffering a stroke.

LeSane delivered another message, adding that Williams was surprised at Will Smith’s actions. In Smith’s Oscar acceptance speech, he said, “Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things.” News of this comes after it was revealed Chris Rock would not be filing a police report against Smith for the incident.
