Kevin Durant is arguably the most hated player in the NBA. His decision to join the Golden State Warriors has still left a bad taste in the mouths of hoop fans across the board.

But you probably can’t tell that to a number of students from KD’s hometown. Just recently, KD announced the opening of an after-school center in Suitland, MD which will equip low-income students with the necessary resources to make it to college. The center will provide test-prep, tutoring, and other educational services. In addition to the scholastic resources, KD is looking to donate money to renovate local basketball courts for kids in the area. After officially launching the Durant Center, KD said “It’s one of the greatest accomplishments so far in my career.”
