The untimely death of Mac Miller took virtually everyone in hip-hop by surprise. Since the unfortunate news, many different artists within the hip-hop sphere have given kind words in honor Mac.
Kendrick Lamar is the latest artist to weigh in on Mac’s death and offer a fond memory:
“Great musician, great writer. Just always had a smile on his face,” Kendrick told Peter Rosenberg (on Open Late). “No matter what he was going through, he didn’t make you feel sorry for him, you know? He was strong about it. Always kept a smile on his face because he wanted you to smile, too.” K. Dot added, “It wasn’t no misery loves company with him. He showed a smile and you gave that smile right back. It made you feel good. So forever, we gon’ remember the life and we gon’ remember that smile. Celebrate him. Mac Miller. Love.”
