In an effort to put out the proverbial firestorm of the past two and a half months, Jada Pinkett Smith recently addressed the topic head-on during a segment of her Red Table Talk series on Facebook Watch.

The 50-year-old actress called for the two iconic Hollywood figures to hash out their differences for the betterment of society so that everyone can simply move on.

“Now about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile,” Jada said. “The state of the world today? We need them both. And we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

Although Chris Rock lightly touched on “The Slap Heard Around the World,” the day following the incident, moments before his standup comedy show, he has yet to directly address Will or Jada in regards to the matter.
