Joe Rogan is at the center of controversy, following several artists coming forward demanding that his podcast be removed from Spotify or remove their musical catalogs.

Singer-songwriter India Arie upped the stakes after sharing a montage of Rogan using the N-word as well as an unsavory “Planet of the Apes” joke. But while many have called out Joe Rogan for his use of racist terms and cracking racist jokes, there are others coming to his defense, including Rap-A-Lot founder J Prince. In a lengthy Instagram post, J Prince laid out why he believes Rogan isn’t racist.

“Joe Rogan is not a racist,” J. Prince wrote in a post. “I know this brother. It takes a sincere individual to admit when they are wrong and have f***ed up about a situation. As you can hear he’s done that and I forgive him because I never want to become one of those people that are filled with unforgiveness and hate, that we complain about all the time.”
