San Diego Comic-Con brought us the first full-length trailer for HBO’s Watchmen…and it looks epic.
Taking inspiration from Alan Moore’s graphic novel of the same name, Watchmen is Damon Lindelof’s new baby, after he previously worked on HBO’s existential favourite The Leftovers. Zack Snyder helmed a cinematic adaptation of the comic back in 2009, but the upcoming TV show looks to explore all of the dark, bloody action at a more leisurely, in-depth pace.
The cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk.
Watchmen is based on the graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and published by DC.
