Google has thrown its hat in gaming ring with the unveiling of the new Stadia gaming streaming service.

The goal of Stadia is to eliminate the physical gaming consoles and PCs gamers are currently used to. Google VP Phil Harrison noted, “Game streaming is one of the most technically challenging advances in computer science, and that’s why Google loves these kinds of hard problems to solve.”

Stadia will also give users a real seamless gaming experience with system developers accounting for potential lag and delays during gaming. It’s not yet clear how much Stadia will cost consumers but when it officially drops it could change gaming for good.
