Fortnite became a phenomenon last year becoming the most profitable video game in history raking in $2.4 billion in 2018.

The game that gripped social media took the top spot in the SuperData rankings that saw notable titles such as FIFA ’18, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Call of Duty all fall behind by a wide margin.

However, with the money Fortnite brought in last year, it seems only right for the game’s developer Epic Games, to start dishing out cash to some of the artists and personalities they’ve taken from. Rappers and social media stars have come forth claiming that Epic Games have stolen dances without compensation. With court cases pending on this matter and their annual earnings being publicized, Epic Games could be divvying up that $2.4 billion fortune.
