Fox News’ Chris Wallace moderated the first Trump-Biden debate which started off with interruptions and insults.
The first of three presidential debates took place on Tuesday night in Cleveland, OH, and garnered much attention as the nation watched the two major candidates for president verbally duke it out. During the debate (if it could be called that), Trump was asked to condemn white supremacist groups to which Trump sidestepped. Instead of explicitly condemning the white supremacist groups, Trump seemingly reaffirmed his allegiance to his mostly far-right base.
When the name “Proud Boys” was tossed out, Trump finally said, with a caveat, “Proud Boys — Stand back, stand by, but I’ll tell you what, somebody’s got to do something about Antifa and the left because this is not right-wing problem….. This is a left wing problem.”
Chris Wallace: "Are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups and to say that they need to stand down…"
