According to reports, Elon Musk ordered Twitter to immediately strip the New York Times of its verified checkmark.

Musk addressed NYT in a series of tweets, calling out the publication. “The real tragedy of @NYTimes is that their propaganda isn’t even interesting,” said Musk. He continued, “Also, their feed is the Twitter equivalent of diarrhea. It’s unreadable. They would have far more real followers if they only posted their top articles. Same applies to all publications.”

News of this comes after NYT issued a statement this past week saying they had no plans of paying $1,000 per month to ensure their verification on the platform. As of now, the New York Times has been the only publication to lose its blue/gold verification.
