In the late 1990s, Cypress Hill released “Dr. Greenthumb.” Produced by their legendary producer DJ Muggs, “Dr. Greentumb” is a catchy depiction of B-Real’s altered ego–a cannabis grower.

The song is a comedic departure from the seriousness of songs like “How I Could Just Kill a Man,” but it has become one of the group’s most popular songs. Over the years, B-Real has parlayed the song’s success into a real-life dispensary and a highly successful podcast. On Sunday, the West Coast rap pioneers performed a rendition of “Dr. Greentumb” with the San Deigo Symphony.
