According to reports, a company called World View has opened up reservations for five-day balloon excursions to the edge of space.
World View is a stratospheric ballooning company, and they are promising to take participants up to 100,000 feet above the earth in order to see various wonders of the world. The company revealed their first commercial flights to the edge of space will start in early 2024. The first spaceport for the company will be located at Grand Canyon National Park, and trips into the stratosphere will be $50,000 per seat.
After the Grand Canyon location opens, the company plans to target more places to set up spaceports, like the Giza Pyramids in Egypt, the Great Wall of China in Mongolia, the Serengeti in Kenya, and more. The flights will take eight passengers and two crew members up to 100,000 feet—almost 23 miles into the stratosphere. The trip will last six to 12 hours and will feature star-view telescopes, earth-view cameras, in-flight dining, and internet connection.
