According to reports, Colorado has been raking in the cash as a result of marijuana recreation in the state.
Regulators say that Colorado has seen more than $6 billion in marijuana sales since the state went recreational in 2014. The Colorado Department of Revenue reports that the state sold $1.54 billion in marijuana products in 2018 and collected $266.5 million in marijuana-related taxes. It is important to note, Colorado law designates a substantial portion of the marijuana-related (tax) revenue be directed at repairing Colorado public schools as well as funding other social programs and projects.
