Coca-Cola, the Atlanta-based soft drink giant, is reportedly in talks about creating a CBD-infused soft drink.
Coke is looking to team up with the Canadian marijuana farm Aurora Cannabis to develop the beverages. Coca-Cola tried distancing itself away from the chatter around the venture which initially reported the company would create drinks with the psychoactive component of marijuana, THC. However, in a statement on Monday Coke said they are “closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages.”
The company went on to say that their objective is “health-focused beverages that will ease inflammation, pain and cramping.” Coke added that despite their interest in the infused-drink market, “The space is evolving quickly. No decisions have been made at this time.”
