CJ talks about the shocking responses he got from the release of the song that put him on the map called “Whoopty.”

The Staten Island native shares that he downloaded the Drill-inspired track by a Romanian producer named Pxcoyo, having never dabbled in the genre before. But once he shared a snippet of the composition on IG live, people were clamouring for more. Therefore, he released the music video for the song, during the pandemic, and it soon went viral. The 25-year-old also shares that the music video was temporarily pulled from YouTube because it contained samples from a Bollywood (India) song called “Sanam Re.”

CJ talked about his upbringing in Staten Island and the dynamics between his parents, growing up. The “Whoopty” rapper reveals that although he was raised by a single mother, his father began to come around once he rose to prominence as a rapper. As the discussion unfolds, CJ touches on what he was like as a student in school and some of the troubles that eventually led to him getting locked up.
