An Orlando, Florida couple got the surprise of their lives when they opened a package sent to them by Amazon. Instead of the four 27 gallon storage bins they ordered, there were 65 pounds of tightly compacted bales of marijuana inside the bins. The couple, who didn’t want to be identified for safety reasons, immediately knew something was wrong because of the weight of the shipment.

“They were extremely heavy,” the wife told local news network WFTV, “More heavy than you would think from ordering four empty bins.” The package weighed 93.5 pounds total. It had been shipped from an Amazon Warehouse facility in Massachusetts via UPS. The estimated street value of the marijuana is $200,000. Police were called and seized the drugs. An investigation has been launched to find out how this could have happened. “We were still pretty fearful our home would be broken into, and we didn’t sleep there for a few days,” the couple told WFTV. After trying unsuccessfully for a month to reach a supervisor, Amazon eventually sent them a $150 gift card with a note saying “they were unable to do anything else at this time.”
