Alec Baldwin spoke with George Stephanopoulos in his first interview since the shooting on the set of Rust that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
According to Baldwin, he didn’t pull the trigger on the hot gun. When asked to detail what happened, Baldwin said, “Well, the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger.” This new wrinkle in Baldwin’s story now suggests that the gun misfired on its own as opposed to him wittingly or unwittingly firing a weapon on a movie set with a live round. TMZ interviewed Hollywood weapons expert Steve Wolf about the shooting and he said that the slightest pressure could make a gun discharge, especially the weapon used on the film set.
