Hailing from the state of Texas, Diction has been writing music for over 10 years, and has been making his name known independently with his music. Diction is part of a major wave of new artists from the south that showcase real lyricism and style. 

In early 2000, Diction connected with The Color Changin’ Click, a group led by Houston legends Paul Wall & Chamillionaire. They released a mixtape project called ‘Bobby Booshay‘ a compilation of lyrical artists from Houston. The mixtape made major noise in Houston, going on to sell over 100,000 copies independently! 

Diction eventually released his own projects and made a street buzz for himself.

In 2007, he went on to launch and co-own an independent record label called ‘New Money Records‘, releasing his first Major mixtape ‘Let’s Talk Business‘ Hosted by DJ Smallz of the famous Southern Smoke series. The project had Major success, selling over 50,000 copies to date!  He then released his debut video for his smash single “Birthday Suit” featuring Slim of the legendary Grammy Award Winning group “112“. Diction achieved success for the single, as it gained high rotation on national radio stations, and was featured as ‘THE BIG ONE’ on Much Music / MUCHVIBE video stations in North America.
