Usher might soon be looking for a new insurance company as the STD lawsuits pile up. The singer is being sued by 2 women and 1 man for allegedly having sexual intercourse with them without revealing that he had genital herpes. One of the accusers has tested positive for herpes. All 3 are being represented by attorney Lisa Bloom.
New York Marine and General Insurance Company filed legal documents in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, August 7, looking to sever their business relationship with Usher. PEOPLE reports that the insurance company claims the policy between them and Usher “does not apply to ‘bodily injury’ … arising out of the transmission of any communicable diseases by insured.”
In addition, New York Marine “does not provide coverage for an ‘insured’ who has a. intentionally concealed or misrepresented any material fact or circumstance.” New York Marine claims the “No Limit” singer, born Usher Raymond, did not reveal to them that he had settled a previous lawsuit in 2012 for $1.1 million over the same accusation.
The company wants the court to rule that they are not obligated to defend Usher in his current lawsuits in California and Georgia, or any others that may come up in the future.
